Reading this quote I started to think… Is insincere gratitude better than no gratitude at all? For this discussion, by ‘insincere’, I mean, ‘non-emotional’.

Perhaps you have heard me say that in order to really be grateful, you need to feel it at an emotional level. When you hold the door open for a stranger at the mall and they mumble ‘thank you’ out of habit, are they really feeling gratitude or are they following their habit of ‘good manners’?

Just something to think about!
