Gratitude in 2011

Time is running out to express your gratitude in the year; there is only 1 week and 1 day left in 2010. Many people wait until New Year’s Eve to determine what their Resolutions for 2011 are going to be. On the other hand, other people have already started to strategize on what they want to (and will be) accomplishing in the new year. Of course, there are some people that do not plan at all. Which category do you fall into?

Gratitude-TargetWhile there are times that ‘being footloose and fancy free’ are good, other times knowing where you want to go can be better. There is a passage in Lewis Caroll’s Alice in Wonderland which cleverly points out why it’s important to know where you are headed in life:

“Would you tell me please, which way I ought to go from here?
That depends a good deal on where you want to get to said the cat.
I don’t much care where, said Alice.
Then it doesn’t matter which way you go, said the cat.
… So long as I get somewhere, Alice added as an explanation.
Oh, your sure to do that, said the cat, if you only walk long enough”

Are you planning on where you want to go? Or are you just full of gratitude to get somewhere? Would you feel better if you had a target that you were aiming for accuracy? Are you looking for increasing the levels of gratitude that you are experiencing on a day by day basis?

I was speaking with one of my mentor’s and he suggested that I might do another Gratitude Conference call early on in January to discuss Goals & Gratitude. I, in turn, am asking if anyone out there would be interested in such a call? It would be free – all I ask is that people come ready to discuss their goals and what they would like to work on for next year. If you are interested in participating, please leave a comment or send me an email. If there is enough interest, I will schedule one.

Be Well.
