Are Things in Harmony?
Here is a quote that was said by Mahatma Gandhi –
“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
It seems that the easy things are always the hardest to execute. There always seems to be some other factors that ‘get in the way’ and we feel that we have to change something. We are taught growing up that we have to watch what we say so we do not offend anyone. We are told to ‘do the right thing,’ and of course, my favorite, ‘Do as I say, not as I do.”
When you what you think, and what you say, and what you do are all in alignment, you will feel much better. And why wouldn’t you? There is no extra effort that you need to expend. Everything is natural at that point. You are thinking, saying, and doing what is natural.
If you think one thing, but say another, you then need to remember what you said in case someone questions you about it. At this point, you still think whatever it was that you were thinking, but you now also have to remember what you said. If you then do something that is not in alignment with what you think, then you are still thinking whatever it was that you were thinking, you are remembering what it was that you said, and finally you need to keep in mind what it was that you did. YIKES! That is a lot of extra baggage that you are carting around. Now, multiply all that ‘noise’ by 10 different thoughts!
Bottom line – if you can simply keep your thoughts, your word, and your actions aligned, your mind will be much more peaceful.
Be Well.
Paul.
