How do you think you would do?

I am currently watching Alone: Frozen – Episode 2 – have you seen it? Have you seen the Alone series? It’s amazing. I highly recommend it.

ALONE: FROZEN drops 6 of ALONE’s strongest participants onto the frigid North Atlantic Coast as winter sets in. With just a few supplies and their previous experience, the survivalists will set out to last 50 days in polar bear country. They’ll be living alongside predators, winds, freezing temperatures & rain. Those who persevere will win their share of $500,000.

I’m not sure if I could do it. I don’t know if I could handle being that isolated and cold. But it is fascinating to watch and see how people react under those kinds of circumstances.

Under the harsh conditions, the participants are truly tested both physically and mentally. It is amazing to see how they try to cope with the isolation, cold, and lack of food. Some handle it better than others, but everyone struggles in their own way.

In previous seasons (and even this one), one of the biggest challenges is being Alone. No one else is around for miles. I am not sure I can do it, even in a cozy environment!

No, I am grateful for the people I interact with. I am grateful for my family. I am grateful for my friends. I am grateful for all my clients.

Nope, I do not think I can stand to be Alone for the amount of time these contestants are.

Before you go, I’d love to hear your thoughts—do you think you could survive in those freezing, isolated conditions? Leave a comment below and let me know how long you think you’d last out there!

Then, go ahead and share this link with a friend and ask them the same question. It’s a fun (and slightly terrifying) challenge to think about—who in your circle would tap out first?

Oh boy, kudo’s to them. No way I would be able to do that. Heck, I’m from Arizona – I’m way too used to the heat. When it gets 50 degrees, or lower, out here, I’m a popsicle!

Arizona vs. their environment… NO CONTEST! You win, Eydie!

I am not the type to participate in physical challenges. And there is no way I could make it in those conditions! To be honest, it would stress me out just watching them try to do it.

Watching is certainly easier than participating! I have gone camping, but nothing like this show – LOL!

Thanks for the thinking. I’m currently thinking about human flourishing – I don’t think I would flourish under those conditions.

Flourishing is such a good word! And there are so many aspects of our life we can choose to flourish (esp. in today’s environment)! Thanks, Linda!

No, I haven’t watched the show. I do love challenges but now that I am at my present age, maybe not so much. I had lived alone for many years but my work environment had always been full of people. So I don’t think I will fare very well.

It certainly is not for everyone. Many of the contestants on the show (and in many seasons) are survivalists. Not a lot of office workers 🙂

I know I couldn’t do it. 50 days is a long time being alone even in the best environment.
I may have to check that show out!

Spoiler Alert – MOST do not make it all 50 days! You would be surprised how little some of the people last!
