Your Gratitude Burst – 2010 12 03

“I had the blues because I had no shoes
until upon the street, I met a man who had no feet.”

Welcome ‘c.vickers’ as the latest Google Friend of All About Gratitude!  (Update: Google Friend is no longer active).

The opposite of being grateful is taking something for granted. I try not to take anything for granted. The real test comes when you take a step back and evaluate a situation.

One of the most frequent things taken for granted is our health. For most people, our health is expected to be good; we wake up in the morning and go about our way without even a thought about it.

It is the last thing from our mind until… we get sick, or get a headache, or get an ache or pain.

I knew that I would feel some discomfort when I donated my bone marrow, and I am experiencing that this very moment. I search for a comfortable position to sit on the couch. Honestly, I have never been grateful for the simple act of being able to be comfortable as I sit down! Oh how I wish it was easier!

Is there anything that you can think about right now that you take for granted?

Be Well.
Paul.
