Tis the season for spending. There is a lot of ‘pressure’ during the last month of the year when people are expected to spend money on gifts for others.

The idea is that we are expressing our appreciation and gratitude for someone by giving them something we purchased at the local store (or online!) This actually puts pressure on people to behave in a certain financial way.

Have you thought of creating something for someone as a present? Can you bake something (no, not a fruitcake!) or share a meal? Most people would probably be happier spending time with you as opposed to receiving something more materialistic.

What can you give, without spending, this holiday season?
