Literally No Gratitude

Last month, someone subscribed on 8/28 and then quickly unsubscribed on 9/1. That did not last long at all! When someone unsubscribes from the Quote of the Day, they have an opportunity to let us know why they want to discontinue. This person indicated, “I did not receive a single quotation regarding gratitude.

I was surprised! So I went to our archives to see what was sent out on those days. Signing up on the 28th meant the first quote was on the 29th:

"Be who you are and say what you mean because those who mind don't
matter and those who matter don't mind."
     - Dr. Seuss

The 30th:

"Experience life in all possible ways -- good-bad, bitter-sweet,
dark-light, summer-winter. Experience all the dualities. Don't be
afraid of experience, because the more experience you have, the
more mature you become."
     - Osho

The 31st:

"I believe we are like instruments. Whether the instrument is used constructively or poorly depends on us."
     - The Dalai Lama

So, technically she was correct. Not one direct mention of the word ‘Gratitude’ at all! However, the meaning behind these quotes certainly suggests being thankful for that which you have. They imply you should be grateful for what the day presents to you. They talk about taking personal responsibility for getting the most out of the day.

If you would, please leave me a comment and let me know if the quotes should remain as they have been (some with a more abstract view), or if you would like to see them specifically contain the word Gratitude, Thankful, or some other synonym.

Be Well.
