Gratitude for The Edge of Night
Some of you may know that my father, Paul Taubman, was the musical director for many Radio shows and many TV Shows. He was the Musical Director for shows such as Tic-Tac-Dough, The Bride and Groom, Concentration, Twenty-One, and the Edge of Night to name a few.
The movie, Quiz Show (it came out in the 90’s), was about the game show, Twenty-One. In the opening scene, you can see an actor playing the part of my Dad! It is a short clip as he had no involvement in the scandal of ‘fixing the outcome’ of the show!
In any case, I was just looking through YouTube and found a posting of the Closing Theme that he wrote and played live every episode (well, he played all the music live every day, not just the closing theme).
This brings back a lot of memories for me for which I will always be grateful! Thanks, Dad!
Be Well.

Thanks for sharing that video Paul. I remember that music, although I never watched the show. It must have been fun having your dad be in show biz!
Paul… this is so neat! I remember that music, my mother used to watch the show… it may have been my naptime lullaby 🙂
Thanks for sharing!!
This brought back memories.
THANK YOU for sharing your life with us.
I remember how I loved hearing the closing theme on my Grandmother’s old black and white Philco….It meant that the Three Stooges were coming on next!
Hi, I went to Palms Junior High in Los Angeles back in the late 60’s and knew a Paul Taubman who played the piano and surfed.
My Dad would have been about 50 years old then!
